BUTTERMILK SUGAR COOKIES
Mix Together:
1/2 C. shortening
1 C. sugar
1 Egg
Stir In:
3/4 C. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
Sift together and then add to above mixture:
2 C. Flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
Chill dough
Preheat oven 350 degrees.
Drop by tsp. to cookie sheet
Tamp down top of each cookie (lightly) with bottom of glass that has been buttered and dipped in cinnamon & sugar mixture. Bake for 10-15 minutes
