LEMON DROP COOKIES
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 Cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup milk
1 Tablespoon finely shredded lemon peel
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Beat butter and hortening in large mixing bowl until softened. Add sugar, milk, lemon peel and half the flour. Beat till combined, add remaining flour. Drop dough from rounded teaspoon 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes or untl edges are golden brown. Cool. Frost with lemon cream cheese frosting.
Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting
In large mixing bowl, combine 4 ounces cream cheese, and 1/4 softened butter until fluffy. Beat in 2 Tablespoons lemon juice and 1 cup sifted powered sugar until smooth. Beat in up to 2 1/2 more cups of powdered sugar to reach desired consistency.
